The MonoDrive control will vary the speed of your Franklin Electric 3/4 hp 230V, or 1 hp 230V submersible pump motor. By replacing your control box with the MonoDrive control, and replacing your pressure switch with the special pressure controller, you can convert your water well system to a constant pressure system, that will provide a specified pressure whenever you call for water. The special pressure control will control your tank with a plus or minus of 1 psi. Therefore, the MonoDrive will eliminate pressure cycling like you are used to with a 30-50 psi switch.

The control will start the motor with a soft start at about 1800 rpm and will run the motor at speeds up to 3450 rpm. The pump performance will be constant pressure at gallons per minute of up to the full performance curve for your pump model. If you open one valve, the motor will run just fast enough to keep a constant pressure of water coming out of the valve. When more demand is made on the well system, the control speeds up the motor to provide a constant pressure at your new demand.

The pressure switch pictured to the right is adjusted by using the provided allen wrench. Under the rubber boot is a rubber plug you remove to adjust the pressure. Therefore, the well pump can be set up to provide any specific pressure you desire. After you adjust the pressure setting of the pressure control, you will need to drain your pressure tank of water and adjust the pressure above the bladder to 70 percent of the switch setting. If you are using the pressure control at the factory setting of 50 psi, you will need 35 psi in the top of your bladder style pressure tank.

The MonoDrive protects you against running dry. If your well was to drop the water level to a point where it is out of water, the control will shut down. After 30 seconds it will attempt to restart, and if all is well, will provide the water at a constant pressure for your demands. If after restarting, the system shuts down again because of low water level, it will stay off based on the time it pumped before failing again, up to 5 minutes.

The MonoDrive control also protects against low line voltage, since the MonoDrive control will operate from 200 V up through 260V. Built in protection for high voltage and lightning surges is provided, along with fault detection for open or short circuits. If the pump becomes bound, the MonoDrive will use auto reversing torque to free the pump.
