You should not hang a submersible pump in a well without safety rope attached. It may be the only way to retrieve a pump dropped into a well. Safety rope is needed to protect against dropping a pump in a well. Our 1/4" polypropylene safety rope has a 1200 lbs break strength. Secure one end to the top of the pump, and the other to a solid point at the top of the well, and rest assured that if something comes apart, you can retrieve the pump from the well. Without the safety rope, a very expensive fishing trip will be in order. We stock safety rope in 500' rolls for $ 24.50, and 1000' rolls for $ 46.75.
